About VisitMadrid

VisitMadrid is an independent, practical guide to Madrid, written in Spanish and English for first-time visitors and for people who come back wanting to know the city better. We answer the real questions of a trip: how to get from the airport, which metro ticket to buy, when museums are free, which neighbourhood suits you, where to eat like a local and which matches, concerts or festivals coincide with your dates.

How we work

• Hand-written guides: the neighbourhood, food, sightseeing and practical pages are our own texts, reviewed regularly, with links to official sources.
• Curated events: the calendar updates automatically from the open data of esMADRID (Madrid Destino) and Madrid City Council. We publish only a limited selection of events of interest to visitors and add our own practical information.
• No intermediation: we do not sell tickets or accommodation and we do not promote holiday flats.
• Funding: clearly labelled advertising and, in the future, clearly labelled sponsorships (see partnerships).
