Reina Sofía Museum
Picasso’s Guernica and 20th-century art in a former hospital.

The Reina Sofía National Art Centre occupies the 18th-century former San Carlos General Hospital and an extension by Jean Nouvel. Its collection covers modern and contemporary art, with a special focus on 20th-century Spanish art.
Most visitors come for Guernica, but it is worth spending time in the rooms on the avant-garde, the Civil War and the post-war period.
