Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum
Seven centuries of painting in chronological order, from Gothic to Pop Art.

Housed in the Villahermosa Palace opposite the Neptune fountain, the Thyssen displays the collection assembled by the Thyssen-Bornemisza family and acquired by the Spanish state in 1993, plus Carmen Cervera’s collection.
It is the perfect complement to the Prado, covering what the Prado lacks, from Italian primitives and Impressionists to German Expressionism and 20th-century American painting.
